Black Denim Now Available!

Whippin' em out... We just finished some 14.5 oz Japanese Black selvage denim jeans for the guys over at Hammarhead Industries. This jean is pretty bad-a and will be available after December 1st. Just a few details: Black duck pockets, white between red selvage line, hand treated rivets, and a black leather back tag. check 'em out.

Named after my grandfather, the mechanical engineer from Perkasie, Norman Porter Company is a denim, canvas, and leather goods company operating out of Fishtown, Philadelphia, PA. We produce small batches on selvage denim jeans, leather goods, and baggage. We make all the products in house.

All of our jeans are made with the finest quality domestic and Japanese denims. Most of our leather products are tooled and unique.We aim to maintain a few general types but try to make each piece a little different. We try not to make simple, clean, and boring accessories. We embrace the strange and wacky.

Do not be hesitant to ask about custom leather work. Please realize that extremely unique leather goods that vastly differ from our normal patterns and practices can be done, but will come at a premium. That being said, this blog is to show some of our past and current work. Certain posts will feature items for sale. All and all, this is to open your mind for inquiries into possible works. If you must have something on here, let us know. Thanks!

Standard Pricing

All standard pairs of selvage denim jeans cost $250. This includes an initial hemming to bring your new legs to perfect length.

We currently have the following selvage denims in stock: 12.5 oz Indigo Cone, 14 oz Indigo Japanese, 14 oz Gray Japanese, 14 oz indigo Japanese (select sizes), and 12.5 oz green japanese.

Chainstitch hemming is $20 a pair. You can send in your jeans or come in person. We do not discriminate against other brands. All are welcome, even jnco's - although we would frown upon your taste. Please do not send in your jeans unless you have spoken with us about the alteration.

We also have a wide variety of vintage shirting and NP leather goods. Let us know if you would like to stop by some time and we can arrange it.
